Mutual Admiration & Bond = Friendship
with Shari Leid
(Season 3 | Episode 103)
[TESSA] The Friendship Series Continues.
This just feels right! It’s like the world pointed me in the right direction in late 2022 when I was inspired to focus on friendship in 2023. That directed to some obvious (and simply joyous) conversations as you have already heard in our first few episodes. And – drum roll – that decision gave me the gift of a conversation with our guest this week, Shari Leid. Why?… you may ask.
Shari is an author and life coach who spends a lot of time thinking and writing about our new obsession, friendship. Shari shares so much in this pod. And not just nice to think about, esoteric ideas… Shari gives us some actual techniques and strategies on how to make friends in our Act III. Absolutely invaluable!
MUTUAL ADMIRATION & BOND = FRIENDSHIP
Hi, I’m Shari Leid – your mindset coach!
I’m a strong believer that the ultimate goal in life is to find happiness — and the relationships we have with our partners, family members, co-workers and friends are critical to achieving happiness.
Happiness is found when you live a life that is filled with: satisfying relationships + purpose + balance.
From a very young age, I was a checklist person. I did everything in order. After high school, I attended and graduated from college earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Directly after college, I attended and graduated from law school earning a Doctorate of Jurisprudence. For nearly fifteen years, I enjoyed a busy career as a trial attorney. During those fifteen years, I married my law school boyfriend, we bought our first home together, and became parents of two beautiful children (a girl and a boy). I eventually became a stay at home mom who drove my kids to school each day and volunteered at the school. To top it all off, we adopted a Labrador Retriever. I was living the perfect checklist life.
Then I hit my mid-40s and I felt a disconnect with the life I was living and my own sense of identity and purpose. I recognized that while I loved my life, I made every big life decision based on who I thought society expected me to be instead of really getting to know who I am and what I have to offer the world. I proceeded to work hard to let go of ego and judgment which dominated my 20s and 30s. I began journaling, reading, studying, and tapping into mindful living.
Now, in my early 50s, I believe that all of my life experiences, including a catastrophic car accident, a double joint replacement, cancer, and other life challenges were placed in my life to allow me to share what I have learned. I believe that everyone’s ultimate life goal is happiness, and I believe that happiness is a 100% achievable goal. Each of my clients is on her own unique life journey. As a Life Coach, I listen to my clients, dialogue, and ask the questions that allow each client to find her own answers that lay within her. I take her from where she is at, help her define her goals, and guide her to a place where she wants to be, living her best IMPERFECTLY PERFECT LIFE!
