Intersectionality
(The Open Nesters Episode 29)
Gloria Jackson Nefertiti
What a fascinating conversation!!
It is not often that I [Tessa] am able to meet with such a forthright person. Gloria tells it like it is. She “owns” her many identities, the selves that come together to make up her as a full person. And she helps us understand how we are all an amalgamation of selves, defining the concept of intersectionality along the way.
Gloria has also done a lot of work in the area of “shame” and “sexual shame.” She has had a lot of difficult challenges in her life that turned out to be sources of shame for her as she grew up. She has spent a lifetime dealing with her own shame, and is now helping others deal with their own personal demons.
